Tencent Cloud TStack Wins 2017 OpenStack Superuser Award

On November 5, 2017, at the OpenStack Summit in Sydney, the OpenStack Superuser Awards officially announced the winner. Tencent Cloud TStack team, one of the four shortlisted teams, emerged as the final winner. This achievement is a testament to the team’s exceptional work in designing, architecting, developing, and operating TStack, a comprehensive enterprise hybrid cloud service based on the OpenStack private cloud platform.

Tencent Joins OpenStack Foundation as Gold Member

As part of its commitment to the OpenStack community, Tencent announced its membership in the OpenStack Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development and adoption of open-source cloud computing platforms. This move underscores Tencent’s dedication to contributing to the growth of the OpenStack ecosystem and providing shared resources to expand the reach of OpenStack private and public clouds.

Tencent Cloud TStack: A Leader in OpenStack Adoption

Prior to joining the OpenStack Foundation, Tencent had already established itself as one of the largest users of OpenStack. The company’s proprietary cloud TStack has been successfully operating for over five years, with an impressive 14 OpenStack clusters and a total of 6,000 nodes. The platform has achieved an impressive availability of over 99.99%.

“We are committed to entering the cloud computing market and building a perfect hybrid cloud ecosystem that serves the global market,” said Bowyer Liu, chief architect of Tencent Cloud TStack. “OpenStack is an important part of our strategy, and we hope to grow together and contribute to the community.”

Tencent Cloud TStack: A Proven Solution for Government and Enterprise

Tencent Cloud TStack has already made significant inroads in the Chinese government and enterprise market, with over 15 provinces and 50 cities signing cooperation agreements. The platform has been successfully deployed in various government and enterprise environments, including the Sichuan government cloud, Guangdong Province government cloud, and Yunnan Public Security Bureau police cloud, among others.

In September 2017, Tencent Cloud TStack was showcased at the BRIC countries meeting in Xiamen, where it demonstrated its capabilities in building OpenStack-based cloud-government construction. The platform also received enthusiastic support from the Xiamen government, with plans for further cooperation in public security, healthcare, environmental protection, finance, and other fields.

Future Plans and Expectations

Looking forward, Tencent Cloud TStack aims to explore new opportunities and collaborate with outstanding products and industry peers to drive the rapid development of cloud computing. The team also plans to continue sharing its practical experience and massive Internet expertise with the OpenStack open-source community, contributing to the construction of a robust cloud ecosystem.
