Domain-Driven Design Summit 2018: A Carnival for Practitioners
In the realm of technical conferences, there exists a unique gathering that brings together domain-driven design (DDD) practitioners from around the world. This event is not just a conference, but a carnival where like-minded individuals come together to share their experiences, learn from each other, and advance the field of DDD.
The underlying premise of DDD is that business problems cannot be solved without a deep understanding of the underlying business domain. This means that architecture must be designed with the business in mind, rather than the other way around. By doing so, we can create more efficient and cost-effective solutions that eliminate unnecessary complexity.
Breaking Down Barriers between Architecture and Business
DDD has been instrumental in breaking down the barriers between architecture and business. By focusing on the domain-driven design principles, we can create a unified language that bridges the gap between these two seemingly disparate worlds. This, in turn, enables us to create more effective solutions that meet the needs of both the business and the technical teams.
Cloud Era DDD China Summit
In the cloud era, the Domain-Driven Design China Summit (Cloud Time DDD China Conference) is a premier event that brings together DDD practitioners from around the world. This conference is organized by ThoughtWorks, a leading architecture consulting organization, and provides a platform for DDD practitioners to share their experiences, learn from each other, and advance the field of DDD.
Six Conference Themes
The 2018 Domain-Driven Design Summit features six conference themes, each of which focuses on a different aspect of DDD. These themes include:
- Domain-Driven Design and Enterprise-Class Cloud IT Infrastructure: This theme focuses on the application of DDD in enterprise-class cloud IT infrastructure. It explores how DDD can be used to create more efficient and cost-effective solutions that eliminate unnecessary complexity.
- Domain-Driven Design and Micro-Services Architecture: This theme explores the relationship between DDD and micro-services architecture. It examines how DDD can be used to guide the design of micro-services architecture and create more effective solutions.
- Practice Mode Field Unified Language: This theme focuses on the importance of a unified language in DDD. It explores how a unified language can be used to bridge the gap between different roles in a team and create more effective solutions.
- Domain-Driven Design and Architect: This theme examines the role of the architect in DDD. It explores how the architect can use DDD principles to create more effective solutions and eliminate unnecessary complexity.
- Domain Driven Design and Evolution Architecture: This theme focuses on the evolution of architecture in DDD. It explores how DDD can be used to create more effective solutions that meet the needs of both the business and the technical teams.
- FIELD Driven Responsive Design: This theme examines the relationship between DDD and responsive design. It explores how DDD can be used to create more effective solutions that meet the needs of both the business and the technical teams.
Thematic Producers
Each of the six conference themes has a thematic producer who has extensive experience in DDD and has made significant contributions to the field. These producers include:
